The real estate market has made a complete turn-around from the market we found ourselves in 6-10 years ago. While buyers had a multitude of choices and little urgency at that time, sellers struggled to hold on to what little equity they had, while chasing a market that seemed to have no bottom.
Today the roles are reversed. Sellers are in the driver’s seat as multiple offers are put on the table with enticing terms that are aimed to accommodate their interests. Meanwhile, buyers face the reality of limited inventory, intense competition and rising prices.
Much of the time a seller is also the buyer of a replacement home in this same market. The mere thought of upsizing or downsizing can be enough to keep folks on the sidelines.
The truth is that there are areas of really good value in this market for those looking to move up. For those looking to downsize, there are lock n’ leave type communities that present a simpler, low-maintenance lifestyle.
Part of my role as a real estate agent is to present options and scenarios that buyers and sellers may not have considered on their own. Seeing that there are options allows for the community to move and flow. A stagnant market is an unhealthy one.

I received my BA with a degree in Political Science and History in 1999 and proceeded to move to Colorado shortly thereafter. Since arriving in Colorado, I’ve lived in Denver, Louisville, Westminster and my family and I are now happily settled in Broomfield.
Following stints in telecom and financial services, I determined that what I really wanted professionally was to be actively interacting with people in a meaningful way. I liked what our Realtor did for us when my wife and I bought our first home. I began to work towards obtaining my Colorado Real Estate license and since 2005 I have been helping families navigate the real estate process.
